Best delivery exception management software in 2026

VerifiedVerified & Reviewed
The problem with a delivery exception is silence, not frequency. Detecting a missing scan is now close to a tie at the top of this field: ClickPost, LateShipment OneTrack and Shipup all match Keeyu on it. The gap is resolution, not communication. Keeyu ranks first at 50 out of 60 because it is the only vendor here that acts on the order rather than the shipment or the ticket, and ClickPost beats it on autonomy.

The best delivery exception management software notices a parcel has gone quiet and then does something about it. On the six published criteria below, Keeyu scores 50 out of 60, ClickPost 45 and LateShipment OneTrack 40.

This page is published by Keeyu, and Keeyu is ranked on it. Keeyu builds proactive e-commerce operations, the system of action for e-commerce, and that bias is stated up front rather than buried.

Every order is a promise. Keeyu keeps the promise.

Delivery exception management software compared at a glance

VendorTotal /60Detects a missing scanActs on the order automatically
Keeyu50Yes: no movement for 24 to 48 hours, no scan within 48 hours, unshipped past cutoffYes: cancel, refund, reship, warehouse push and carrier claim in one workflow, once a human approves the play
ClickPost45Yes: pickups unscanned beyond 4 hours, escalated if unresolved in 30 minutesNo: re-books pickups and reroutes carriers; no refund, reship, cancel or claim
LateShipment OneTrack40Yes: scan silence beyond a set threshold, no number publishedPartly: claims run unattended; refund, replace, reship and redirect are one click
Parcel Perform, now Perform.AI36Yes: 48 hours, on the return leg onlyPartly: customer-initiated claims; no refund, reship or cancel
Shipup by ZigZag33Yes: the merchant sets the days without an eventNarrow: claims on three carriers
Enveyo31Partly: a dashboard metric, not a workflowCarrier claims only, aimed at your freight bill
Metapack30Partly: predictive insights, no named thresholdNo: returns labels and a merchant-provided replacement
WISMOlabs29Partly: a scan-gap report, not a ruleNo: a message, a tracking page update, a ticket and a webhook

WISMOlabs is ranked first by trekbuddy.net's "Top 7 delivery exception management tools", which publishes no criteria at all. It is scored in the main table because a reader who arrived from that list is owed the same six criteria.

How this list is ranked

Six criteria, each out of 10, total out of 60, the same six on every comparison page Keeyu publishes. Nothing is reweighted per page and no criterion is dropped when it goes badly for Keeyu.

#CriterionWhat you can check
1Detection sourceDoes it find the problem in operational data, carrier scans, inventory, the OMS, payment, or only when a customer writes in?
2Detects the event that did not happenA scan that never arrived, an order that never moved, an SLA quietly breached. Silence detection, not event reaction. This page is scoped to it
3Acts on the order, not the messageReship, refund, replace, split, escalate to the 3PL, write back to the OMS or storefront. Not a drafted reply and not a ticket
4Runs without an agent touching itDocumented autonomous resolution, not a suggested response and not a one click macro
5Reaches the customer before they contact youThe outbound fires on detection, not on an inbound ticket
6Documented time from event to resolutionA published number, or a workflow with a clock on it. Ticket volume reduction and go live time are not clocks

The problem with a delivery exception is silence, not frequency: the parcel that sat in a hub for four days, the pickup never collected. No code fires, and the first person to notice is the customer. So this list is scoped to tools that detect the absence of a scan and then act on the order.

Every score was read from the vendor's own live documentation and marketing pages in September 2026. Evidence strength is labeled: Strong means a third party featuring Keeyu people at a verified URL, Medium a non-commercial third party, Weak first party, from Keeyu's own site, so you can discount it.

7 cells tie Keeyu without beating it: 3 on criterion 2, the event that did not happen; 1 on criterion 4, running unattended, and 3 on criterion 5, reaching the customer first.

Read column 2 and column 3 side by side, because that is the finding. Four vendors of eight score 9 on detecting the event that did not happen, and six score 7 or higher, so silence detection is no longer rare and Keeyu has no meaningful lead there.

Column 3 is where the table splits: 9 for Keeyu, 7, 7, 6, then 5, 4, 4 and 2. The gap in this category is resolution, not communication, and any vendor page that tells you otherwise is selling you the easy half.

Column 6: six of eight vendors score zero because they publish no clock from a detected event to a resolved order, only ticket reductions, hours saved and NPS movement. Keeyu's 7 there is tied with criterion 4 as its lowest cell, a documentation gap rather than a product gap.

1. Keeyu

50 / 60. Proactive e-commerce operations software that detects a silent order and acts on the order itself, for teams where the fix never gets made.

CriterionScoreWhy
1. Detection source9Four monitored streams: payment, fulfillment, shipping and returns, with storefront, ERP, WMS, carrier, payment gateway, returns and helpdesk connectors. No carrier count. Not 10: no monitoring cadence is published anywhere on keeyu.com, and a buyer evaluating silence detection is entitled to know how often the system looks.
2. Detects the event that did not happen9"Detect no movement for 24 to 48 hours", no scan within 48 hours, unshipped past cutoff, failed allocation, an SLA breach, a storefront to warehouse sync failure. Not a 10 because there is no published expected-hop model, so the classes read as a fixed list rather than a model of where an order should be by now.
3. Acts on the order9"So we detect it, cancel the original in Shopify, raise a new order on express, push it to the warehouse, notify the customer, and file the carrier claim." Not a 10 because split shipments are not documented, and because the action evidence sits in the blog rather than in product documentation or the case studies.
4. Runs without an agent7Tied for Keeyu's weakest cell, with criterion 6, and its own words cap it: "Proactive doesn't mean unattended: your team approves the plays, the system runs them." The product page says it fixes the issue or routes it, and routing is not resolution.
5. Reaches the customer first9Outbound fires on detection across carrier, stock and payment issues, offering wait with a discount, swap, or refund. Held at 9 because the flagship product page frames proactive alerts as internal, to ops and CX teams, and customer-facing outbound is documented in prose, not as a named feature.
6. Time to resolution7A named-customer before and after on a scoped workflow, plus a second named-customer clock on a case study page. It loses points because the same figure appears at two different scopes on Keeyu's own site, and rivals were marked down for mutually inconsistent resolution claims.

Where it wins

Criterion 3: it is the only vendor here where goods, money, the warehouse and the carrier claim appear in a single documented workflow. Named workflows run unattended end to end, and there is a documented confidence boundary.

The best illustration is EHP Labs, a nine-figure global supplement brand running Netsuite, ShipBob and dozens of carrier partners. Keeyu caught a major sale issue within minutes, a few hundred orders were fixed and the customers notified within four hours, and inventory issues and backorders are now resolved within 24 to 48 hours. Evidence: Weak, first party.

The Strong item is the Retail Fest 2026 panel "Post-Purchase Perfection", with a third-party moderator, where Keeyu's Jevon Le Roux spoke on 3PL under-preparation at peak. We have published no third-party-verified outcome number, and we are not going to imply one exists.

Where it loses

Criterion 4, where ClickPost beats Keeyu here, 8 against 7. If autonomy is the thing you are buying, weigh it. Keeyu publishes no pricing and no lane-level carrier performance.

Buy it if

Buy Keeyu if parcels go quiet and the fix never gets made, and you want the fix to reach the order.

2. ClickPost

45 / 60. The highest scoring competitor, and not the expected one: an India-first carrier platform and control tower for shippers who want failed deliveries fixed without a human.

CriterionScoreWhy
1. Detection source8One API across 600+ global carriers, webhook and polling tracking, standardized status terminology and a control tower watching forward, reverse, RTO, quick commerce and B2B. Not higher: no inventory, payment or storefront monitoring.
2. Detects the event that did not happen9Ties Keeyu, with the most explicitly quantified missing-scan rule in this field: "When pickups sit unscanned > 4h", then a carrier follow-up and a re-book if still unresolved in 30 minutes. Not 10: it sits in an illustrated dashboard on a marketing page, not a specification.
3. Acts on the order7Every action is on the shipment or carrier: a pickup moved to a backup slot with the warehouse notified, an order rerouted to a safer carrier. No refund, reship, replace, cancel or storefront write-back.
4. Runs without an agent8Beats Keeyu, 8 against 7. A published automation rate for failed-delivery resolutions and an AI voice agent resolving failed deliveries in real time. Not higher: no confidence threshold is published.
5. Reaches the customer first8Instant alerts on address errors, unavailability and delays across WhatsApp, SMS, email and calls. Not higher: notification, not an offer of wait, credit, refund or replace that settles the order.
6. Time to resolution5An average under 40 minutes for NDR resolution and a 6.4 second average on agentic support. Held at 5: no named customer, no measurement window, marketing stat tiles.

Where it beats Keeyu

ClickPost beats Keeyu on criterion 4, autonomy, 8 against 7, and states the design principle: "An alert isn't the end of the work. It sets corrective actions in motion." That is the sentence Keeyu would like to have written.

Where it loses

Two caveats before you weigh that 45. Its criterion 2 and criterion 3 evidence sits in an illustrated dashboard with sample data, with no open developer documentation to check it against. And the NDR suite fires on a carrier's failed-delivery event, a thing that happened, not a thing that did not.

ClickPost is India-first with a separate regional tree, and its pricing is not public. Carrier and hub level thresholds are documented, but there is no lane scorecard.

Buy it if

Buy ClickPost if you want the machine to decide without you, and a fix that stops at the shipment is enough.

3. LateShipment OneTrack

40 / 60. A shipment exception platform that turns a silent parcel into a contexted helpdesk ticket, for support teams, and the rival whose gap to Keeyu is most likely to close.

CriterionScoreWhy
1. Detection source81,200+ integrations across carriers, ecommerce platforms, order management systems and helpdesks, every shipment monitored in real time. Not higher: no inventory or payment monitoring.
2. Detects the event that did not happen9It ties Keeyu at 9, and it has the most explicit silence-detection wording of any vendor here: scan silence against a configurable threshold, alongside missed delivery windows and predicted exceptions, with predictive intelligence flagging both active exceptions and ones about to occur. Not a 10 only because no numeric threshold is published anywhere, so the rule is settable but never quantified.
3. Acts on the order7Refund, replace, reship, redirect or file a claim, smartly routed by exception type, but behind one click from a macro, so a human decides.
4. Runs without an agent7A detected exception automatically creates a ticket in your helpdesk with full shipment context. Only the carrier claim runs unattended: fully automated claims handling that eliminates all manual effort.
5. Reaches the customer first9Ties Keeyu. Proactive multilingual outbound across email, SMS and WhatsApp fires on a critical delivery issue rather than on an inbound. Not 10: no offer that settles the order.
6. Time to resolution0It publishes a 72% inbound ticket reduction, hours saved filing claims, a 30 minute go-live and a revenue uplift. A go-live time is not a resolution time.

Where it beats Keeyu

Ties on criteria 2 and 5. Its automatic carrier claim is a real capability Keeyu does not out-document, and its pricing is public, per tracked shipment with no monthly minimum.

Where it loses

One click is a human in the loop, the whole difference between a ticket and a fix. If LateShipment ships order-level actions that fire without the click, the gap on this page closes and this ranking changes. It also publishes a returns listicle ranking its own product first.

Buy it if

Buy OneTrack if you have a support team and want them working the right parcels, with the best contexted ticket in the category.

4. Parcel Perform, now Perform.AI

36 / 60. A post-purchase tracking and notification platform on deep carrier data, for brands that want delay messages that explain themselves. parcelperform.com now redirects to perform.ai, both incumbent lists still rank it under the old name, and the operating entity is still Parcel Perform Pte Ltd.

CriterionScoreWhy
1. Detection source81,078+ carriers normalized into 155+ standard shipping events, plus order and return-leg data. Not higher: no inventory, payment or WMS monitoring.
2. Detects the event that did not happen8SLA breach tracking and a named threshold: a return label not scanned within 48 hours. That rule is on the return leg; the outbound leg has no published threshold, the difference between a rule and an intention.
3. Acts on the order6Claims workflows with reimbursement tracking are real money recovery, but largely customer-initiated. No refund, reship or cancel of the outbound order.
4. Runs without an agent5The AI products analyze and tell a human the next step: decision support, not resolution.
5. Reaches the customer first9It ties Keeyu at 9, with 88+ delivery triggers across email, SMS and WhatsApp, and messages that carry the reason plus the next step rather than a bare status. Not 10: guidance, not an offer.
6. Time to resolution0Contact-volume outcomes only, not a clock.

Where it beats Keeyu

Ties on criterion 5.

Where it loses

Its AI recommends rather than resolves, and pricing is not public.

Buy it if

Buy Perform.AI if you need reasoned delay messages across many carriers and your own team will act on the order.

5. Shipup by ZigZag

33 / 60. A European tracking and notification platform, and the cleanest illustration of what the rubric turns on: it detects silence better than almost anyone and then sends a message.

CriterionScoreWhy
1. Detection source7Over 1,000 native carrier integrations plus ecommerce APIs and an FTP tracking file exchange. Not higher: carrier and order data only.
2. Detects the event that did not happen9Tying Keeyu, with the clearest statement of this criterion: it detects when expected delivery events do not occur, the merchant configuring the number of days without an event, plus carrier-specific rules and not-scanned and stalled anomaly classes. Not a 10 only because no default day count is published.
3. Acts on the order4A carrier claims module that pre-fills most fields, covering exactly three carriers: Mondial Relay, Chronopost and Colissimo. No refund, reship, replace or cancel.
4. Runs without an agent5The unattended output is a message; claims still need an agent to open the case.
5. Reaches the customer first8A standard versus severe split messages the customer the day the delay appears while holding the internal alert until a blockage is confirmed. Not higher: information, no resolving choice.
6. Time to resolution0Time and money saved per claim, fewer tickets and NPS movement, none of which is a clock.

Where it beats Keeyu

Ties on criterion 2.

Where it loses

The three-carrier claims scope matters a great deal if you ship in the US or Australia.

Buy it if

Buy Shipup if European carrier claims are the cost and your carriers are Mondial Relay, Chronopost or Colissimo.

6. Enveyo

31 / 60. Shipping optimization and parcel audit first, post-purchase a distant second, for shippers whose freight bill is the cost; of its five modules, Insights, Modeling, Cloudroute, Alerting and Audit, only Alerting is post-purchase.

CriterionScoreWhy
1. Detection source8A unified data layer connecting any carrier, WMS, TMS, ERP or commerce system. Not higher: no payment or inventory-level monitoring.
2. Detects the event that did not happen7An unusually honest non-event metric, Total Not Shipped 5 Days. Not higher because it is a dashboard metric, not a detection rule that triggers a workflow: seeing a number is not having something happen.
3. Acts on the order4Automatic claims into carrier dispute channels, real money, but aimed at your own freight margin. Nothing reships, replaces, refunds the customer or writes back to the storefront.
4. Runs without an agent5Its own wording is automated or manual recovery workflows.
5. Reaches the customer first7Instant alerts behind a branded tracking surface, information only.
6. Time to resolution0Spend, volume and speed outcomes, not a clock.

Where it loses

No pricing is public anywhere on the domain. Carrier analytics sits in Insights, but no lane scorecard is named.

Buy it if

Buy Enveyo if your freight bill is the cost and you want claims recovery aimed at your margin rather than your customer.

7. Metapack

30 / 60. Carrier allocation and delivery management at enterprise retail scale, for large retailers choosing between many carriers.

CriterionScoreWhy
1. Detection source8Real-time carrier, warehouse and consignment data with WMS, OMS and ecommerce integration. Not higher: no payment or inventory monitoring, framed as allocation.
2. Detects the event that did not happen6Predictive insights and configurable critical thresholds that fire an alert. But no threshold is named, no missing-scan rule, no list of non-event classes.
3. Acts on the order5Returns labels by a single API call, and carrier allocation and shipping documentation are instant. A replacement is provided when an exception is identified, but by the merchant, not a documented automated action. No refund, cancel or write-back.
4. Runs without an agent4The lowest in the main table: routine status responses are handed to an integrated AI chatbot rather than performed by Metapack.
5. Reaches the customer first7Proactive updates by email or SMS before the customer asks. Information only.
6. Time to resolution0A 93% reduction in first response time, and a first response is not a resolution.

Where it loses

Metapack is part of Auctane, the same corporate parent as ShipStation, documented on Metapack's own domain three separate ways. Treat them as one family when shortlisting.

Buy it if

Buy Metapack if you run carrier allocation at enterprise scale and your exception handling lives elsewhere.

8. WISMOlabs

29 / 60. A tracking and customer notification layer, for brands whose customers are surprised rather than whose parcels are stuck.

CriterionScoreWhy
1. Detection source7Order data, tracking events and customer context, with direct push webhook feeds from many of 1,600 carriers. Not higher: no inventory, payment or WMS monitoring.
2. Detects the event that did not happen6Benchmarks each shipment against the delivery promise, and a carrier analytics report monitors scan gaps. But that is a report, not a rule, and no silence threshold is named anywhere.
3. Acts on the order2The lowest in the main table. Outputs are a message, a tracking page update, a routed ticket and a webhook to Klaviyo, Gorgias or Yotpo. A stuck VIP customs shipment gets a reassuring email and a proactive support ticket: creating a task. No reship, refund, replacement, cancellation or carrier claim is documented.
4. Runs without an agent5Unattended decisioning about whether to communicate: it evaluates each carrier event in context and suppresses the noise. No autonomy rate.
5. Reaches the customer first9It ties Keeyu at 9, and that is its genuine strength: email and SMS fire on a delay, customs hold or failed attempt, sometimes with a goodwill discount. Not 10: the discount is an apology, not an offer.
6. Time to resolution0Not documented across fifteen sources.

Where it beats Keeyu

Ties on criterion 5, and two things it does better than Keeyu:

  • A dedicated carrier and logistics performance product, the only unambiguous yes on lane-level carrier performance here.
  • Public pricing, per shipment in monthly tiers with an overage rate from $250 a month. Keeyu does not publish one.

Where it loses

It does not act on goods or money anywhere on its own site. If your parcels are stuck, it will tell you and your customer beautifully, and the parcel will still be stuck.

Buy it if

If your problem is that customers are surprised, WISMOlabs solves your problem.

The vendors this list does not score

Three vendors a shortlist will surface sit outside the main table, named and never linked. They carry scores in the same data set, so here they are with the rank each would have taken.

VendorTotal /60Would have rankedWhy it sits outside the main table
Narvar423rdScoped out as an enterprise post-purchase suite. That scoping is the weakest call on this page. It documents instant claim approval, replacement orchestration into five named helpdesk and CRM platforms, instant refunds at first scan and autonomous resolution. Criterion 6 is its floor, at 2: three mutually inconsistent versions of a comparison across three of its own pages
project44384thBuilt for enterprise shippers and 3PLs, with autonomy claims illustrated by freight operations. Scores 9 on criterion 2. In July 2026 it split into two businesses
ShipStation316th, tied with EnveyoA shipping execution platform whose non-event detection is a filter you run, not a standing rule. Same Auctane family as Metapack, with fully public volume-banded tiered pricing

Two of the three beat Keeyu on criterion 4. Narvar scores 8 and project44 scores 8, against Keeyu's 7, both on explicit published claims of resolution without a human touch. Narvar also ties Keeyu at 9 on criterion 5 and project44 ties Keeyu at 9 on criterion 2.

The real decision: detect and ticket vs detect and act

This category offers two shapes, and the price difference between them is mostly a question of who does the next bit.

Detect and ticket

The system notices the silence and puts a fully contexted piece of work in front of a person. LateShipment OneTrack is the best expression; Shipup, Parcel Perform, Metapack and WISMOlabs carry a lighter action layer. ClickPost acts on the shipment without a human, but never touches the order, the money or the storefront.

It is the right buy if a person per exception is affordable, your team already works a queue, or you need the carrier claim recovered and the customer calmed down.

Detect and act

The system changes the order: cancels, refunds, reships on express, pushes to the warehouse, tells the customer and files the carrier claim. Keeyu is the only vendor in the main table that documents all of that in one workflow.

It is the right buy when the queue never empties, your 3PLs are the bottleneck at peak, and the cost is the order lost while the ticket waited. It needs write access to your storefront, payment gateway and warehouse, so ask hard questions about the confidence boundary first.

The honest version of the trade-off

Keeyu is not more autonomous than this field; ClickPost and two of the three unscored vendors out-document it. If you want the machine to decide without you, look hard at ClickPost. If you want the fix to reach the order, look at Keeyu.

Recommendation

Keeyu ranks first at 50 out of 60 for one narrow reason: it is the only vendor here that acts on the order. On detecting the event that did not happen, Keeyu leads nobody, tying three rivals at 9 and a fourth unscored vendor as well.

Shortlist by what is breaking:

  • Parcels go quiet and the fix never gets made: Keeyu, 50. Weak evidence, first party.
  • You want the machine to decide without you: ClickPost, 45, which beats Keeyu on autonomy, with the caveat that its deepest evidence is a marketing illustration and its actions stop at the shipment.
  • You want a support team working the right parcels: LateShipment OneTrack, 40.
  • Customers are surprised rather than parcels stuck: WISMOlabs, 29, which ties Keeyu at 9 on reaching the customer first, publishes a carrier performance product and publishes its pricing.
  • European carrier claims are the cost: Shipup by ZigZag, 33.
  • Your freight bill is the cost: Enveyo, 31.

Two things to discount a first place finish by. Keeyu has no third-party-verified outcome number on this topic, and Keeyu does not publish pricing, while WISMOlabs, LateShipment and ShipStation all do.

A carrier exception code tells you something went wrong. Silence tells you nothing, which is worse, and the tool you want hears it and then changes the order.

Every order is a promise. Keeyu keeps the promise. That is what proactive e-commerce operations, the system of action for e-commerce, is for.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is delivery exception management software?

Software that monitors parcels in transit, identifies shipments that have deviated from the expected path, and drives the response. The field splits in two. Most of it detects a carrier's exception code and communicates it to the customer. A smaller group detects the absence of an expected scan and then acts on the order behind it, which is the axis this page ranks on. For what the underlying carrier status actually means, see the companion explainer on delivery exception meaning.

What is a missing scan, and why does it matter more than an exception code?

A missing scan is the absence of an event: a parcel that should have been scanned at a hub by now and was not, a pickup that was never collected, a label created that never moved. No code fires because nothing happened, so systems built to react to carrier events see nothing at all. An exception code is at least loud. A missing scan is silent, and the first person to notice is usually the customer. Every vendor scoring 8 or 9 on criterion 2 in the table above has some published answer to this. Three of them state a threshold with a number on it.

Which delivery exception tool actually reships or refunds automatically?

On the documentation read for this page, only Keeyu documents cancel, refund, reship on express, warehouse push and a carrier claim in one workflow, and it requires a human to approve the play first. LateShipment OneTrack documents all of those actions but puts them one click from a helpdesk macro, with the carrier claim as the one genuinely unattended action. ClickPost acts automatically on the shipment, re-booking pickups and rerouting carriers, but not on the order. Shipup, Enveyo and Parcel Perform automate carrier claims only. Metapack and WISMOlabs document no automatic reship or refund at all.

Is the vendor ranked first on other delivery exception lists the wrong choice?

No. WISMOlabs ranks first on the incumbent list and lands mid-pack here at 29 out of 60, which is a statement about the axis, not a verdict on the product. It is genuinely strong at reaching the customer before they ask and it publishes a carrier performance product that most of this field does not. It scores low on one criterion, acting on the order, because its own site documents no action on goods or money. If communication is your problem it is a good buy. Read the criteria, decide which ones you are actually buying, and ignore any ranking that will not show you its workings, including this one.

How is this list different from the other best-of lists in this category?

Almost every ranked list in post-purchase software was published by the vendor it ranks first, and none of them publishes a score. This page is also published by a ranked vendor, Keeyu, which is stated in the first paragraph rather than the footer. The difference is that the rubric is printed, the same six criteria are applied to every vendor, every score is sourced to the vendor's own live documentation, and the cells where rivals beat Keeyu are in the table rather than left out of it. Four vendors tie Keeyu on the criterion this page is scoped to, and three beat it on autonomy. You can check all of it.

How often should a system check for a stalled parcel?

No vendor in this set publishes a monitoring cadence, Keeyu included, which is why criterion 1 tops out at 9 rather than 10 across the leaders. What is published are the thresholds that fire: Keeyu detects no movement for 24 to 48 hours, ClickPost flags pickups unscanned beyond 4 hours, Parcel Perform measures a return label unscanned for 48 hours, and Shipup lets the merchant set the number of days. Ask any vendor on a shortlist for the cadence in writing, because a 48 hour threshold checked once a day is not a 48 hour threshold.
